Hypnotism
When you visit a hypnotherapist for treatment of a specific disorder, you go into a meditative state of mind as a result of the actions of the hypnotherapist practicing the art of hypnotism. Ever since the beginnings of the practice of Hypnotism there has been much fascination with what this art form actually is and isn't. And it's a fact that this comparison gave rise to one of the most interesting studies seen for a great deal of time.
Hypnotism practioners understand that the mind can be manipulated very easily due that the state that it goes into under hypnotism. Under Hypnotisim a Hypnotist uses methods to get across to the exact state of mind of the person under treatment. And once that has happened, the hypnotist helps the person to fix their problem that they are confronting by suggesting new beneficial measures.
The results of a survey showed that although 20% of people cannot be hypnotised to any extent, 25% of people can be hypnotised easily. So this reveals that Hypnotism is more of an art than actually scientifically validated. And that people obviously react to Hypnotism in different ways, from person to person. Hypnotism is said to be very much like a trance effect.
To explain in more detail by way of an example:
You are a chain smoker trying desparately hard to quit and you pay a visit to a hypnotist and explain your problem. After you've gone into a concentrative state of mind, the hypnotist might ask you to recall all the reasons that made you choose to smoke initially. And still in this Hypnotism session, the hypnotist would get you to imagine that you have quit smoking and then get you to imagine all the fantastic sights and experiences in life that you would see and have as a result. The hypnotist would repeat these thoughts to you that you imagined and then later in the Hypnotism session the hypnotsist would get you to repeat what he said. And when this happens the perceptive reactions of the individual being treated will be under the control of the hypnotist.
The hypnotist cannot control what happens after a Hypnotism session. And after an apparently successful Hypnotism session, the person who received treatment may leave and do something totally different.
