John Grinder is the co-founder of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) with Dr. Richard Bandler. He is a graduate in psychology from the University of San Francisco. He served in the US military and the US intelligence agency. Later John Grinder achieved a Ph D in Linguistics from the University of California in San Diego in the late 1960s.

John Grinder is accomplished in the field of linguistics; especially in the field of syntax. He was later appointed as a professor of linguistics at the University of California in Santa Cruz. He's authored many creditable books and some of his exceptional work can be seen in books like 'On Deletion Phenomena in English' (1972) and 'Guide to Transformational Grammar' (1973) among various other articles.

Grinder went on to develop a novel field called Neuro Linguistic Programming with Richard Bandler who was then studying psychology. It all began when Bandler invited Grinder to take part in his therapy groups. Grinder was intrigued by the ways in which the therapists used their linguistic patterns and methods to create effective results from their patients.

This lead John Grinder and Richard Bandler to develop the model called Neuro Linguistic Programming. This was derived from the theory of transformational grammar and the effective language patterns used by proven therapists such as Virginia Satir, Fritz Perls and Hypnotherapist Milton H. Erickson.

The NLP model was further developed using a variety of books published by these therapists which became a foundation stone of Neuro Linguistic Programming. John Grinder has co-founded many other books on NLP, its applications and techniques.

People all across the globe have greatly benefited from NLP techniques by increasing self-confidence which has lead them to professional and personal achievements and successes. NLP came as a boon to many that lacked those certain specific qualities that are required to become very successful in this competitive world we live in today.

John Grinder and Richard Bandler have created unique techniques to make your mind work into positive things and achieve what’s best for you. NLP teaches you methods on self-improvisation and also helps you to gauge the personality of the people around you that you interact with from day to day. It’s vital that you have your thoughts, feelings words and behavior in complete coordination in order to give out the required and best results.

Once your thoughts, words and actions are perfectly aligned you’ll be in a far better position to get your message across to others in a dynamic and effective way and most importantly -- in the way you intended.
